Project Manager Survey
 To prepare and manage survey projects, to coordinate and supervise the quality, costs and priorities of operations:

 

1.   Position within the organisation:
Reports to the General Manager Survey
Communicates with Accounting, Logistics and Vessel Manager.

2.   Objectives

To manage the efficient execution of domestic and international survey projects within specifications, schedule, budget, quality, safety, health and environment. The Project Manager is the first contact point for the client.

 

3.   Tasks and responsibilities

The Project Manager has, amongst others, the following tasks and responsibilities:

  • Manage survey projects by coordinating, controlling, executing and adjusting to ensure projects are executed in an efficient manner.
  • Draw up a project plan and schedule. Prepare Task Risk Assessments and liaise closely with the QHSE department and ensure the QHSE guidelines are adhered to
  • Draw up a budget plan in cooperation with the commercial department
  • Compose and direct the project team
  • Coordinate and control the project activities (possibly on site) within the standards set by the QHSE department
  • Control the project budget and report to the accounting department and the Survey General Manager
  • Report on the progress of the project to the Survey General Manager
  • Select and instruct subcontractors and suppliers
  • Implement and organise any "extra work" if applicable
  • Administrate the project in such a way that information is complete, factual and archived
  • Draw up invoices, control debtors and act if necessary
  • Compile incident reports and implement suggestions for improvement
  • Liaise with the client and the project team on a regular basis
  • Investigate alternative working methods to improve existing methods
  • Undertake actions to prevent, and to correct unsafe situations from reports (verbal or written) of unsafe acts
  • Ensure the project adheres to standards, regulation by law, work permits etc.
  • Undertake workplace inspections and coordinates toolbox meetings on site
  • Take a leadership role on all QHSE matters to ensure the project is managed in a safe and efficient manner

 

4.   Authorities

  • Operate by delegation from the General Manager and to clients request, quotation and project plan.
  • Prepare and schedules the project.
  • Select equipment suppliers, sub-contractors and project personnel.
  • Control the execution of the work, progress, costs and quality of the project(s).
  • Advise on the technical work methods, equipment and personnel.
  • Draw up purchase orders for equipment and personnel
  • Administrate, invoice and archive the executed operations.
  • Stop the operations in the event of an unsafe situation

 

5.   Profile

Ideally, for this position we are seeking a candidate qualified in Hydrography with commanding, coordinating and communicative qualities. You should be experienced in working offshore and ideally have a proven track record of managing offshore projects including employees, freelance personnel and subcontractors. As Project Manager you must be able to schedule, coordinate, command, administer and direct operations.

The Project Manager represents the company and liaises with the client.

 

6.   Education and experience

  • B.Sc. Hydrographic Survey, Survey or equivalent
  • Extensive operational experience
  • Knowledge of subsea operations
  • Leadership skills
  • Clear insight into companies finance and cost control
  • Understanding of modern computer applications including financial and scheduling programs
  • Knowledge of the English language (written and spoken)
